On the 5th death anniversary of  "Man of Inspiration" APJ Abdul Kalam, Let's know about few major things about Kalam. Kalam is popularly known as the Missile man of India and he was a great educationalist, used to inspire youths with his speeches. He was an Indian aerospace scientist and politician who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.

The life journey of Abdul Kalam was so Interesting, Inspiring, and Intriguing. He was born on  15th Oct 1931 and raised in Rameswaram Tamilnadu, his early life filled with many difficulties because of poverty. he used to go with his father for fishing, studied under the street light. was youngest of 4 brothers,
during school years kalam secured average grades but had the vision to achieve big in future. He spent more of his time in studying maths. after schooling in Rameswaram moved to St. Joseph College Tiruchirapalli. APJ was graduated with Physics from Madras Institute of Technology in 1954. 

In 1960 Kalam joined the D.R.D.O where he was given the project of designing helicopters for the Indian Army. In 1969 transferred to ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), he worked as project director of India's first-ever launching vehicle developed by ISRO. SLV-111 indigenously built launching vehicle which deployed Rohini Satellite successfully into space in 1980. In 1963-64 He visited NASA's Langley Research Centre in Hampton. next 2 decades spent on developing PSLV And SLV-111 projects. people started calling hin Missile Man of India.

Kalam was invited by Raja Ramanna to witness Pokhran-1 "smiling Buddha" India's first nuclear test conducted at Pokhran Rajasthan during Indira Gandhi period.

Kalam was able to convince union cabinet towards missile programmes, R Venkataraman       (  defence minister) helped them to get funding about 3.88 billion for this mission. As promised Kalam developed successful missile to India such as Agni & Prithvi.

From 1992 to 1999, He was associated with DRDO as Chief Scientific Adviser. The Pokhran-2 nuclear test was conducted in 1998 known as "Operation Shakti". Kalam Played Major role in India's 2nd Nuclear test during Atal Bihari Vajapeyi period.

APJ served as 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. during Presidential period was known people president. performed all his duties adhere to the constitution of India and respected the law of land. 
In May 2012 started a campaign to inspire youths called as "What Can I Give Movement" with the objective of defeating corruption.

On 27th July 2015, during his travel in Shillong, Kalam died, his body was buried at Rameswaram with state of honours.

He wrote many books like Ignited Minds, INDIA 2020 & wings of Fire ( Auto-Bio). Received many honours including Bharat Ratna (1997), Padma Vibhushan (1990), & Padma Bhushan (1981).
