In 1885, the Indian National Congress was formed to bring the Indian freedom movement into the mainstream. earlier to that, Freedom fighters had no common agenda to attain. everybody fighting for their own rights, there was a need for an organization that brings all the activists under one roof.

 Allan Octavian Hume ( AO Hume), is the founder of INC, founded on 28th December 1885. 1st session of INC was held on 31st December 1885 with the presidency of WC Bannerjee. Here are the list of INC presidents,
